Review: Ísknapar Eve leggings

In the review package, Ísknapar send me there were two Eve leggings, one regular pair and one winter pair. And although this review should build more towards and conclusion, I will just jump at it. Because these leggings are absolutely worth their money and in this review, I will tell you why.

Before I got the tights in, Ísknapar asked my sizes, because the normal Eve tights would be better in one size smaller than the regular size, due to the stretching fabric. And so I was sent an Eve in black size S and winter Eve tights in size M and they both fit very well. I really like the fact that I fit in a size S is really flattering. The fabric follows the body well and it’s very comfortable to wear. I do wear a belt in the normal Eve leggings, because of the stretch they can also slip down a bit. But even the belt hoops are nice and secure the belt in enough places so that the waistband underneath the belt doesn’t slip down. With winter tights the belt is not really necessary.

Normally I am not a very big fan of silicone full-grip seats, because they secure your seat so well in the saddle that you can’t move anymore. But with the Ísknapar ones the silicone gives a nice secure grip on the saddle but you don’t get stuck on the saddle and you are still able to move your legs in the saddle.

I myself am tall for a woman, with my 177cm,  and I need an inseam length of 84cm with breeches. The long version of the Ísknapar legging fits and doesn’t cause me any cold ankles, so one more bonus point goes to this product. Another one is the deep pocket that can fit your phone and another little pocket with a zipper.

There are two things I think could be better for this nice product. I would love it to have two big pockets on both sides because the design allows another pocket to be there integrated easily on the other side of the trousers leg as well. Then you would have space to hide your phone and bring horse treats, both in one pocket is just not practical…
Another thing I would alter is the waistband, either make it a bit higher or maybe design the fabric to overlap in a v shape in the front. That would flatter the figure more because it doesn’t ‘’pinch’’ in the sides. Then it would look a bit flattering and although breeches just need to be practical, looks are also important.

The normal Eve leggings are nice and thin, also very suitable to wear during the summer. The winter tights are nice and thick, they are perfect for in the fall and spring when it’s 10 degrees, but they are cold for the very cold weather, but I think that you can easily fit a thermo legging underneath and then that problem is also solved.

As it comes to the colours, I really like the black tights, simple and easy to style with different colours. The normal tights come in black, grey, navy and a very nice plum colour. So enough choice! The grey colour of the winter leggings is more blueish than ”grey grey”. There is also an option for black and both are nice colours. There is also an Eve competition legging, which is really nice because it has a black seat and I think it’s equally comfortable. At competitions, it’s of course very important to feel comfortable and it’s nice that if you are sensitive as it comes to clothing you can train in the same apparel as you use on the competition track.

What I also really liked is the way how Ísknapar packages their products, all in cardboard boxes, and paper packaging and the leggings came in a reusable cotton bag! So extra points for Ísknapar for thinking of the climate, that makes me very happy.

The normal Eve leggings are priced at €74,90 and the competition version come at a price of €79,90, which is not bad for such a comfortable and practical pair of tights. The winter version comes at a price of €84,90. I think both leggings would make an addition to the horse wardrobe because they are comfortable and practical for long days in the saddle and doing stable work. I would surely recommend them!
